The week before school started for 2017, an arson attack on Newcomb Park Primary School left classrooms with severe fire, smoke and water damage and resources were destroyed.

Our Year 12 VCAL students have since made connections with the school as part of their Personal Development subject. On Monday, our students took 'BORIS', our VCAL Community Bus, out to the school, which was the first of a series of visits. They played games, read books they had written in Literacy, distributed fruit and the resources they have gathered and made.

The VCAL teacher in charge, Mrs Jane Bailey, expressed just how worthwhile and enriching the collaboration is for all students learning and how well received our bus and students were at Newcomb Park Primary School. We look forward to similar partnerships continuing and evolving throughout the year as 'BORIS' - Building Ongoing Relationships In Schools - moves out into the community.
