School-based Meningococcal W vaccination program

With the Minster for Health, Jill Hennessy, announcing in February that the Labor Government will provide $7.1 million to deliver a one-year free school-based vaccination program for Meningococcal W for 15 to 19-year-olds, we now need to start to plan for this with the Barwon Health Immunisation Service.

Initially, the government reported it would be delivered in Term 2, but in reality, the resources will not be available until late in Term 2. We will be looking at where best to schedule these vaccinations so as to cause the minimum disruption to classes.

Further information will be forwarded to parents as it becomes available.
