Ramping up Reading in Year 6

Year 6 students are ramping up the reading this term!

Our year level goal is for all Year 6 students to be reading EVERY day when they are at school. Every student has their own ‘personal selection of texts’ that they keep in a book box. Students know how to select a text that is ‘Just Right’ for them using the ‘Five Finger Rule’ and all classes now have a small library with a varied number of quality texts.

Students are exposed to new vocabulary and are enjoying learning new words and investigating them!

‘Show me a family of readers, and I will show you the people who move the world.’ ~Napoleon Bonaparte
