Toonworld's Animation Incursion

Last week the students in Year 3 had the opportunity to attend the Toonworld's Animation incursion.

The children spent time in small groups collaborating and creating a 'stop motion animation', using clay, props and an iPad. Since this incursion, the students have been writing stories and bringing them to life through the use of stop motion animation. This task also provides rich opportunity for our students to authentically and purposefully practise their skills of critical thinking, creative thinking, problem solving, communication, reasoning etc alongside the literacy, technology and artistic skills that are more immediately obvious.
The students are looking forward to completing their animations and sharing them with their families at the annual 'Animation Celebration' early next term.
