Red Shield Appeal

Last Sunday, students from Christian College took part in the Salvation Army’s Red Shield Appeal.

We had an amazing turn out, with over 70 students coming along to help doorknock as part of this year’s Salvation Army fundraising appeal. The morning was a wonderful opportunity for our students (along with some Senior and Junior School students) to volunteer their time, joining in the magnificent work the Salvation Army does in our local community! It is definitely encouraging that, as a Middle School, we had over 50 students willing to give up their Sunday; not to mention on a cold and wet Autumn day. The students came to school in their uniform and embraced the opportunity to SERVE, reflecting the wondeful character and servant heart of our young people.

In around 90 minutes of doorknocking, our Christian College students raised just over $3600!!

I was very proud of the students as they represented our College, their family and the Salvation Army wonderfully well. It was lovely to see the interaction between students from different year levels and the staff and parents who were helping, both while out collecting and while sharing a drink and hot food together as they counted the money. There was a great sense of community.

Thank you for your support.
