STEM Program - Year 2, 3 and 4

I was very fortunate this week to be invited to the Wood Technology room to share in the excitement of some of the Year 3 students taking part in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) activities with Mr Maddock.

The students have been working under the guidance of Mr Maddock and have, to this point, studied the building techniques used on some famous bridges, as well as looked at angles used to scaffold them and tried different methods of strengthening their own models. Having decided on the design they deemed suitable, the students have begun the building process using icy pole sticks and hot glue.

As you can see from these photos, it looks like we may have some budding engineers in our midst.
