Cheese Making in Year 8 Science
Over the past week, the Year 8 students have been making cheese and ice cream as a part of their Science lessons.
This has provided a hands-on way to demonstrate chemical and physical changes with links to the real world. Some students even tasted some fresh cheese that was made using the identical method but with kitchen equipment. While the responses were mixed, they could all see the similarities in taste and texture.
This knowledge should further benefit the students during their Farm experience next year as they will have an understanding of the components of, and uses for, milk.
