Cultural Topic 'Kimono' - Year 2

The Year 2 students have been learning about the Japanese costumes 'kimonos' in this term.

Although kimonos are no longer every day wear in Japan, people still wear them for special occasions throughout the year. The students learnt that Japanese people choose the fabrics, colours and designs of their kimonos, which match the four seasons, to express their appreciation for the nature. Wearing kimonos, the students talked about the patterns on them and designed their own kimonos.
