Bush Prep

Our Bush Prep sessions have continued to provide the children with the opportunity to develop their gross motor skills, including co-ordination, balance and agility, in addition to their creativity, symbolic play, problem solving, imagination, resilience, self-regulation and a deeper conceptual understanding and respect for the natural environment.

As a part of our Integrated Studies units this term, we have also been focused upon helping the children to build their understanding of the world around them as they use their five senses. Our unit of work, ‘What are the needs of living things?’ incorporated the study of plant and animal needs – which was great to explore at Bush Prep sessions. Our second unit of work this term focused on ‘How does the weather change?’ This also encouraged the children to think about different types of weather, the seasons, the effects of the weather upon our daily activities and also upon the environments of different animals – another great link to Bush Prep.
