Message from the Head of Campus
Dear Bellarine families,
It has been wonderful to see all the happy faces of our students this week; there has been such a vibrant feel around the Campus.
We welcome three new families and a new teacher, Mrs Victoria Kent into our Campus. We are delighted that they can be here, and wish them a very happy and rewarding time at the Bellarine Campus throughout the next weeks, months and years. It is going to be a busy term and I am excited about the many rich learning opportunities that are ahead for our young people.
Our Campus assembly on Tuesday set the tone for our community this semester. We heard from both of our College Captains, Briella Egberts and Cameron Chandler, along with Principal Glen McKeeman. Briella talked about the impact our actions of love and kindness towards others has on our individual experiences within a community. Cameron, meanwhile, further demonstrated what is possible in such an environment; in particular, a place where young people are willing to take risks, try new things and express their individual skills and abilities amongst their peers.
Cameron went on to demonstrate such risk-taking, wowing our students with a very new addition to his guitar playing kit. He added a repeat pedal to his repertoire, one he had only minutes rehearsing with - having received his purchase in the mail the evening prior to our assembly. Overall, our community has been encouraged that we are all called to do ‘good works’ (Ephesians 2:8-10), and first and foremost, that ‘good work’ is to reflect the love that Christ has for us to all people in all that we do.
I look forward to partnering with you, alongside our staff this semester.
