Cambodia Fundraising

Wednesday morning saw the sun shining, the temperature a little warmer than usual and the smell of bacon and eggs filled the air.

The Unit 2 Global Politics class were cooking delicious BBQ bacon and egg sandwiches as part of a fundraising campaign for their upcoming Cambodia trip.

While in Cambodia, we stay and work at Ptea Teuk Dong (PTD) community centre in Battambang. They are a community-focused NGO, empowering children and adults through education and training, and this year they are planning on purchasing some furniture for their kindergarten. The Year 11 students have been challenged to raise $2,500 and they made an excellent start on Wednesday with casual clothes and the BBQ breakfast.

I would like to commend the students for trying something new and executing the breakfast so well. It is always fantastic to see students working together towards a common goal and in service of others. I’d also like to thank the College families for their generosity, and a big thank you to the Cudmore family for their personal donation.
