VET and VCAL News
On Thursday, 12th October, The Master Builders Association of Victoria (MBAV) and The Gordon are offering a free Master Builders Orientation Day suitable for Year 9 to Year 12 students interested in a career in the Building and Construction Industry. The program gives students an insight into the diverse options available and how they take the next steps with career choice. More information and registration forms are available from the Student Office. Completed application forms should be received by The Gordon by Monday, 28th August.
VETis applications are now open for VCE and VCAL students to apply for courses for 2018. VET is an optional subject for VCE students, but a mandatory subject for any students who intend to study Intermediate or Senior VCAL in 2018.
The Gordon 2018 VET in Schools Guide and application forms for all Geelong VET courses are available from the Student Office. Completed application forms should be returned to the Student Office prior to 7th September. Please be aware that VET courses incur additional fees charged by the provider and vary in amount from course to course. Please note that students going into the second year of their VET studies in 2018 must also complete an application form. It is a good idea to apply as soon as possible as some classes fill quickly. For any questions regarding VETis applications, please contact Mrs Kerryn Fearnsides at Senior School.
We would like to sincerely thank Pauline and John Brunning from Brunning and Sons Wholesale Fruit Tree Nursery, in Somerville, for their generous donation of fruit trees. We plan to plant these in the combined VCAL/VCE student garden, as well as at our Back Creek Farm. Thank you to College parent Vanessa Wight for organising this.
