Senior Boys Football Grand Final

The College wishes to congratulate our Senior Boys Football team on making the Grand Final of the Herald Shield Country Cup.

This is the first time our College has made it to the Grand Final of this Interschool football competition. In a very competitive display, our boys were over-run in the second half by Ballarat Clarendon College.

The first half provided some of the best football played by a Christian College team, with all players making some great contributions and taking the game up to our more-fancied opponent. A four-point half-time deficit blew out in the third and fourth quarters, as the opposition continued to run and use the ball cleaner than our players.

Our coach, Daniel Fanning, gave tribute to the efforts of all players, who have contributed greatly to the success of our College football program this season. With a best-on-ground performance by one of three Year 10 players, Keidan Rayner, our College is in good shape for the younger students to continue the legacy left by the Year 12 players this season.

We congratulate the Year 12s for creating the successful environment that led to our first ever Grand Final appearance, and we acknowledge the leadership of Chris Lever and Jack Nelson in making this season a memorable one.

The College wishes to thank the coaching efforts of Mr Fanning, and the support of parents, staff and families who watched the various games throughout the season - and making the trip to Ballarat to support the team on Tuesday.

Mr Andrew Richardson

Director of Health, Physical Education and Sport
