Geelong Music Performance Festival
Congratulations to all of our students who performed in the Geelong Music Performance Festival
For the third consecutive year, the Christian College Music Department has hosted and run a festival called the Geelong Music Performance Festival. This year’s festival featured over 450 performances, in seven instrumental areas, across four weekends in August performing as soloists and in small ensembles.
We had students from all of our campuses performing. From their participation, it is hoped students will have gained much through their own performance experience, but also through listening to others and receiving feedback from an adjudicator. The seven specialist adjudicators were all professional performers with international reputations, who are also highly-regarded educators and examiners for the AMEB, VCE and the Tertiary sector.
Students from Christian College as well as other schools were invited to participate. While most of the musicians performing were our students, it was lovely to welcome a small number of students from other schools to our festival. The festival is a non-competitive event, with the primary aim being for students to be encouraged and supported in their performances. It was wonderful to see our students ‘grow’ and support their peers through their experience at the Festival.
The Festival website has biographies of the adjudicators and the program of performers. Congratulations to our Music students for their good work throughout the event!
