Spring Into Strings - A Highlight For Our Talented Young String Players

On Tuesday night, Junior School Belmont played host to 'Spring Into Strings’, an annual evening of musical celebration for our youngest String students at Christian College.

The gymnasium was transformed into a special performance venue for the occasion. Students from the Belmont, Bellarine and Highton campuses came together to showcase their talents and enjoy the gift of Music with each other and their families and friends.

There were items from the Belmont and Bellarine Junior String Ensembles, the Bellarine and Highton Year 5 String Workshop classes, the Bellarine Ceilidh Band, and the specially-formed Cross Campus Cello Ensemble.

Students and String teaching staff collaborated beautifully together, with the highlight performance being that of the combined item, 'Toss The Feathers' by The Corrs. The energy and excitement in the room following this performance was palpable!

Each student was asked to create a small piece of artwork for the pop-up gallery. This year, students prepared a hand decorated bird, which was displayed on the night flying above the stage under a blanket of glowing fairy lights for all to enjoy.

We wish to thank the parents and guardians for their encouragement and support of the students in their musical endeavours. We are looking forward to creating many more performance opportunities to engage, inspire and nurture a love of sharing Music in our young String players into their future.
