This week a small group of Middle and Junior School students attended a Chess Competition at Oberon High School.
The students spent the day playing against a range of different abilities and ages and it was a fantastic opportunity to represent the College in this competitive game. Tvisha Merchant was one of the students and is a passionate Chess player.
A reflection from her:
On Monday, September 11, I participated in an Interschools Chess Tournament at Oberon High School. There were three of us, Dylan Phung and myself, from the Middle School Campus and John McClure from Junior School. We had quite a challenge as we were asked to play against high school students. It was tough competition - I won two games out of seven. I really enjoyed this experience as I was able to meet people from other schools as well as test my skills against the older players.
I am looking forward to Chess Club starting at Middle School next term. It will be wonderful to have a bigger Christian College team to head to a greater variety of Interschool competitions so we can have a great chance winning!
