Camp A Hit For Year 1 At Burnside Anglesea

Bush art, orienteering, balancing on the low ropes course, trampolining and zooming off on the flying fox were some of the many activities Year 1 students participated in at the Burnside Camp at Anglesea.

The students enjoyed a gorgeous bush walk to the beach, noticing native wildflowers and spectacular views along the track. The sky was filled with dramatic clouds and, as we are cloud experts, we could identify that they were cumulonimbus (rain clouds) and the distant thunder and rainbow confirmed this for us.

At the beach we enjoyed the annual ‘Master Castles’ competition and there were many creative designs built by the students, using a range of natural materials found on our rambles. On Thursday, all classes came together for a day of team building experiences, including tabloid sports and an epic groove-a-thon hosted by the magnificent Mr Smith.

The students enjoyed all of the experiences and took the many opportunities to try new things and make new friends. We are sure that these memories will be ones that they will always treasure. The Year 1 team would like to thank the parents and staff who volunteered to assist -your efforts are truly appreciated and valued.

We hope that you treasured the experience as much as the children did. A special thanks to Mr Thurman who attended the full camp and made the experience so much richer for all with his presence.
