Year 10 Update

The Year 10 Coordinators would like to take this opportunity to advise you of the ‘Social Event of the Year’ for our Year 10 students.

This year our social has been organised by a committee of dedicated students and, through surveying our students, they have decided on the theme ‘Red Carpet’. The social will be held at The Pier on Friday, 27th October. This presents as a wonderful opportunity for our teachers and Year 10 students to celebrate a very successful year.

As Year 10 students come to the end of their third term at Senior School, we can’t help but reflect on the amazing young people we have had the pleasure of working with so far this year. The students have participated in a range of activities and engaging course work and we are very proud of their contributions to our community here at Christian College.

We have had a number of students running very successful small businesses here at the Senior School Campus, selling a variety of food items from hamburgers and pasta, baked potatoes and sausage sizzles to donuts, churros, jelly cups and cupcakes. Our Year 11 and 12 students have certainly enjoyed tasting a variety of foods at lunchtime and we appear to have some savvy business entrepreneurs among our Year 10 students.

An 'Our World' class has recently returned to Geelong after their time in an Indigenous community, Outdoor Education classes are learning canoeing skills in preparation for Barmah Camp next term and a number of our students have been involved in our House Footy, House Drama and 'Wearable Art' activities. We are doing ‘good work’ in Year 10 and our students are embracing opportunities with a willing and positive spirit.

As always, we would like to reiterate our support to you as parents. Should you ever have any worries or concerns, we warmly encourage you to contact us. It is our role to guide, mentor and support your child, and to nurture not only their academic potential, but also their spiritual, emotional and psychological wellbeing. Please do not hesitate to contact us should the need arise.

Warmest regards,

Mr Paul Breguet and Ms Kim Doherty
