National Australia Indonesia Language Awards
On Friday, 10th November, India Lewis attended a presentation evening in Melbourne for the announcement of the National Australia Indonesian Language Awards (NAILA) for 2017.
This competition features entrants from around Australia in different categories who perform a speech on a wide variety of topics. India had previously written and recorded her speech before sending it to a VIP judging panel to consider against other Year 7 and 8 students from across the country.
The strength of India’s speech meant she received first place in the Junior School (Year 7 to 8) category. On the night, India’s speech was presented in front of a large audience.
She received a substantial monetary prize, certificate and the opportunity to participate in the awards ceremony, meeting several high-profile people in the bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Australia. She received her award from Dewi Savitri Wahab, the Consulate-General of the Republic of Indonesia – Victoria and Tasmania.
Congratulations India on this wonderful achievement!
