Year 8 Pop-up Cafe

Last week, the Year 8 Food Studies students staged a ‘Pop-up Café’ during lunchtime. At the beginning of the project, students examined aspects of running a sustainable business, carrying out surveys along with designing and making a range of healthy menu items. The design task was a wonderful lead-in to developing 21-century skills: ways of thinking, working and living.The project also connects to the community by students nominating a charity to donate some of the proceeds of their sales. It was also a co-collaboration project with the Middle School Highton Music students: their music and singing creating a wonderful atmosphere. Well done to all who have contributed and thank you to all those who have been involved in making this such an exciting event.
