Year 9 Celebrations and Conclusions
The 2017 school year has been a huge journey for our Year 9 cohort - one full of growth, challenges, ‘good work’ and academic rigour.
This week saw the culmination of their time at Middle School and an opportunity for reflection and celebration of their journey thus far!
On Monday, we had the great pleasure of being able to journey around Geelong together, through the experience of an 'Amazing Race'. Within this, students were able to demonstrate independence, ingenuity, teamwork and collaboration as they challenged themselves at many different checkpoints and innovative activities within our city.
On Tuesday, we were able to come together in shared faith for our final Middle School Christmas service, as well as celebrate a beautiful evening at Clyde Park for the Year 9 Formal. This event was a true celebration of the fine young adults our students are developing into and an opportunity to come together with the College staff and Year 9 Bellarine students.
On Wednesday, the students' Year 9 journey culminated at their Graduation ceremony. During the ceremony, our School Captains addressed and thanked the Year 9 cohort, as well as leaving the Year 8 students with the challenge to ‘leave a legacy of kindness’ as they themselves had hoped to have done. It truly was a highlight of the year, and a distinctive mark in time - as the young people who started their Middle School journey only a few short years ago, are departing as driven young adults.
We wish the 2017 Year 9 Middle School Graduates the greatest success and God’s richest blessings as they embark on their Senior School journey, continuing the ‘Learning that Matters’.
