Parent Classroom Helper Reminder

We are looking for parents who are prepared to be helpers in the Prep to Year 4 classrooms during the morning sessions. The classroom helper would need to be able to make a regular, usually weekly, commitment to a 2 hour session. They would be involved in supervising small groups of children within the classroom whilst the teacher works with small teaching groups. This has proven to be a most rewarding time for parents and it allows for smooth and effective learning. Parents who wish to, are welcome to assist in their child’s classroom, providing strict confidentiality guidelines are respected. These will be discussed further during the information session. For anyone with talents in other areas, such as Art or Library we would be pleased to have you come along also.

We have organised an information session for those parents who would like to consider becoming classroom helpers. The session will take place in the Auditorium on Monday 26th February at 9.30 am, immediately after the Junior School Assembly. For those parents who have previously attended a session and wish to continue working in the classrooms, please make contact with Classroom Teachers to make suitable arrangements.

Just a reminder that all helpers are required to have a Working with Children Check before they can participate in classroom/school activities.

Applications can be obtained and completed online at www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/

We encourage you to carefully consider this important contribution to your child’s education.

Deputy Head of Campus
