International Women's Day Breakfast

International Women's Day Breakfast

We would formally like to invite you to attend a breakfast celebration for our Senior School community in recognition of International Women’s Day. The breakfast will be held on Thursday 8th March from 7.30 – 8.30 am in the Senior School Library.

This year we are very proud to be hosting three special guests at our breakfast – Renee Garing, Kate Elstone and Elizabeth Lowe. Each of our guests are past Christian College students who have pursued varied careers and interests upon completing their secondary education. Renee, a current teacher and Year Level Coordinator at our Middle School Campus in Highton, is renowned for her sporting achievements, both in netball and most recently in women’s football. Upon leaving Christian College, Kate Elstone has developed a highly regarded reputation for her cabinet making skills throughout the Geelong region. At the end of her apprenticeship, Kate won the ‘Best Apprentice’ award at the Gordon TAFE and has since travelled to Turkey and Nepal to compete internationally. After graduating in 2015 Elizabeth Lowe commenced a combined Law and International Relations Degree at Deakin University, while also pursing her passion for social justice. In 2017, Elizabeth spent three months working as a volunteer with the Off Spring Project in India and has recently commenced a legal internship with human rights and refugee advocate Julian Burnside AO QC.

All three guests have agreed to participate in a short ‘Q & A’ style discussion where we will have an opportunity to hear about career highlights, personal achievements, life challenges and hopes for the future.

Please reply to this invitation via email to Elaine Pearson on (03) 5241 1577 or e.pearson@ccg.vic.edu.au
