House Swimming Carnival

The House Swimming Carnival will be held on Tuesday 27th February at the Kardinia Pool. This is a great and traditional event which contains not only pool racing but also the incredible Synchro Swimming. Students have already been practising for this and it is a hotly contested competition. The Houses have individual music for their routine and are judged on a set of criteria. Bragging rights are definitely on the line.

There are also many events on land for those who wish to contribute to their House effort. These are very funny and add to the flavour of the day.

We welcome parents to attend and to see the efforts of the students on this colourful day.

It is a compulsory event and if a student chooses to absent themselves they may be asked for a medical certificate. We thank you for your support of the House Swimming Carnival.

2018 Festival of Glass

I wish to congratulate Roxanne Van Beveren and Jane Jarecki both in Year 11 for receiving Glass Art Mentorship awards for future careers in glass. This is a wonderful achievement.  The festival was held at our Bellarine Campus on Sunday 18th February.

Tennis and Cricket Teams

We wish our cricket and tennis teams all the best as they compete in the all-day competition on Monday 26th February.

There is great excitement with the teams and all students are looking forward to the opportunities ahead. They take great pride in representing the College and competing in a fair and enthusiastic manner.

We shall report on their results in the next edition of The Vine.

Student Learner Drivers

A reminder for students who drive to school on their L plates to please park in one of the designated parking bays prior to changing drivers. This should not be done in the loading bay area as it holds up traffic at a very busy time of the morning and afternoon.

Your co-operation in this matter will be appreciated.

Delivery of food to our campus

Students are not permitted to ring or have delivered food from outside outlets during school hours. This can only occur with a teacher’s permission. The students know of this and we ask for the parents and guardians to support us. As this relates to all students it is not fair to have one return with their parents in possession of take-away food to be eaten in front of others in the school yard.

In particular we ask that students refrain from UBER Eats as they have, in Melbourne, entered the school grounds without permission causing concern for many.
