Preps are busy Digging into Books

As an introduction to our ‘Mystery Reader’ sessions, Mr. Watson has been popping into the Prep classroom to see how their week has been and to read to them. Laughter fills the room as Mr. Watson uses all his best character voices and reads silly stories such as ‘Don’t Open This Book’ and ‘The Book with No Pictures’.

Earlier this week, the classroom was silent as our first Mystery Reader read to the Preps! The students enjoyed trying to guess who the Mystery Reader might be. Bronwyn Keddie, a Prep S parent and local police office, visited us and read a story about the art thief, Fish Fingers. The Preps are very eager to find out who the next Mystery Reader might be…

We have been so encouraged by the number of Prep families who would like to participate by being a reader. Those who have shown interest have been noted and we will endeavor to arrange a suitable date for you to be the Mystery Reader within Term 1 or 2.

These different reading sessions are special times that support the classroom activities taking place throughout the week and encourage the Preps to develop a love for books and enjoyment for reading.
