Bush Prep Reminder

We are looking forward to commencing our Bush Prep program next Friday afternoon, 9th March at Stewarts Reserve in Armstrong Creek. We encourage all Prep parents to check the parent portal for Bush Prep dates, as these vary between the Prep classes.

Bush Prep provides our students with valuable opportunities to engage in unstructured, exploratory, creative, outdoor play! Our sessions are muddy, wet, messy, noisy and fun! Some of our favourite things to do at Bush Prep include building cubbies, playing with sticks, climbing trees, digging for clay, building and testing bridges, and ‘fishing’ in the pond.

We are very blessed to incorporate the learning from this rich environment back into our classroom at school. The learning experiences at Bush Prep are unpacked during our Bush Prep reflections and the skills practiced are incorporated into the explicit teaching of Literacy and Numeracy sessions.

Bush Prep provides wonderful opportunities for the development of essential 21st century learning skills. Just some of these skills include oral language and collaboration, problem solving, responsible risk taking, creative thinking, sharing, negotiation and leadership.
