Year 4 Mathematics

During a Year 4 Mathematics rotation lesson this week, the students were using arrays as a strategy to represent multiplication problems. An array is a way to represent numbers using rows and columns. Rows represent the number of groups and the columns represent the number in each group or the size of each group. The students used collaboration and made links as they used counters to investigate how the same total could be attained using varying rows and columns.
