Year 6 Camp
Late February saw a very excited group of 90 Year Six Students board a bus headed for Lady Northcote Camp, run by the YMCA and located just outside of Bacchus Marsh. A short bus ride meant we were ready to experience all the camp had to offer. With helmets donned for Giant Swings and Lifejackets secured for the canoes we were ready! After a fun day in the sun we settled into a Trivia night where the students demonstrated how well they collaborated as a team as well as showing a few, up until now, hidden talents, including some amazing dance moves.
A full day of activities on day two, finished with a disco which ended with some foot sore and worn out teachers and students who had proved that they could overcome every challenge put in front of them.
The camp culminated with an Amazing Race type activity and gave everyone one last chance to explore the fantastic Lady Northcote facilities. Everyone returned to school knowing each other a little better and ready to build on the learning muscles further developed over three days.
A huge thanks must go out the dedicated Year 6 Homeroom teachers Mrs Barr, Mrs Hambrook and Mr Francis. As well as Mr Nichols and one of our school chaplains Ms Naomi Gibbons. These amazing educators made sure that all of the students on camp had a great time even ensuring that the charges in their care got a couple of hours sleep each night!
