Working Together to Build a Railway Line - Year 3

During maths rotations the Year Three students have worked in groups to design and build a railway track from wooden train set pieces. The brief given to them was to build the longest track, using only the available pieces, ensuring that the track joined up and a train could travel completely around it. This task required discussion, problem solving, trial and error and finally coming to a solution that met the brief. All children were absorbed in their learning throughout this activity and each group offered a different solution. Another example of learning being an exciting and enjoyable experience for our students.
