From the Head of Campus
Dear Parents and guardians,
It is hard to believe that I am writing our end of term article as I am sure I was just writing to welcome you to our wonderful Junior School! It has been a joy and privilege to journey with you in term one and especially to see the way our Preps and new students have settled into being part of the fabric of our College community. Term One is a vitally important time in establishing relationships of students and staff and staff and parents. In developing this partnership I want to encourage families to continue to be in regular contact with homeroom teachers working together to support our children.
Reflecting on the term we have had an exciting start to the year with our Welcome, Leaders Induction and Bible Presentation services, Family Picnic and Open Day, Prep Parents'Morning tea and Bush Prep program, Year 3 Wonka Day and Aquarium excursion, Year 4 swimming program and House Athletics at Middle School, Year 4 Australian History Incursion, Genius Hour Celebrations in Year 1 investigating Chemical Science through a variety of experiments and Genius Hour Celebrations in Year 2 investigating Biological Sciences through creating Invertebrates, and our Junior School Easter Bonnet Parade where we were joined by Williams House children and students, staff and families from our Surfcoast Campus.
Weekly we celebrate the Learning that Matters in our Vine and I encourage you to refer to the Vine to discover information relating to not only the special events and operations at the Junior School Campus but also to the engaging environment we share with our students. I would also encourage you to keep a regular check of the parent portal and College calendar, as these are continually updated with new information. If you have any concerns with regard to access of these online facilities please do not hesitate to let us know so that we can organize for our IT Technician, Sascha Veldhuis, to assist you.
Just a reminder as per last week’s Vine that our Junior School students finish their school day at 2.30pm today. Students will resume for Term 2 on Tuesday, 17th of April. On this day we will have a special commencement service for students to mark the beginning of Term 2 after recess at 11.30am.
As we enter this time of Easter reflection and celebration I wish you all a joyful, safe and blessed Easter time and would like to share with you the scripture from John 3:16 ‘For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.’
