Year 4 - 9 Athletics Carnival

Under bright blue skies last Friday, the 2018 Year 4 – 9 Athletics Carnival was held at Middle School. With a host of students from older year levels competing at the National Championships the week prior, the Junior School students had the privilege to participate alongside these students.

All Year 4 students participated in the 100, 200 and 800 metre races. Students that qualified for the four field events competed to gain a spot for the next athletics meet in Term 3, while other students participated in some great novelty events earning some valuable house points.

The Year 4 students participated with a lot of enthusiasm and effort in warm conditions. Taylor came out on top followed by Penman, Flynn and Burrows. The top three students in each year level will be awarded a medal for earning the highest amount of points throughout the day. These will be presented at the first assembly in Term 2.

Students that finished in the top two places will have an opportunity to compete in the Deakin District Athletics Carnival in Term 3.

A big thank you to the PE and Sport team for their wonderful organisation and all the Year 4 teachers that assisted on the day.
