ANZAC Day is a time for us to learn and celebrate what our soldiers have done for our country and for us. This is what the students from the Surf Coast Campus and Butterfield House shared together on Tuesday morning. It was such a blessing to come together with students, staff and parents and participate in our very first ANZAC memorial service.
Our little students learnt about the significance of ANZAC day and the reasons why we remember and honour all who have served and who are serving to keep us safe. They showed their respects by placing flowers and wreaths at the foot of the flag. Prep student Sasha Davies read a beautiful prayer to give thanks to those who have served. The children all stood for a minute silence and listened to the Last Post and Reveille played on the trumpet by Charlie Barnett from the Middle School.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Stephen Riddle, Carla Dunlop and Charlie Barnett for helping to make our inaugural ANZAC service such a memorable one.
