DAV Debating Competition

On Monday evening this week, a selection of students from Year 8 travelled to Geelong Grammar School to participate in the DAV Debating Competition. Two teams competed against Clonard College and Trinity College (Colac) debating the topic ‘The Olympics should expand to include non-sporting events’. Both teams gallantly debated with confidence and aplomb against Year 9 students. All students involved spent a great deal of time preparing debates and presented exceptionally well on the night. Congratulations goes to Ethan Wallish, Dominic Williams, Chloe Lamb, Eloise Wingrave, Maya Fuller, Atharv Joshi, Nicholas Maroulis-Voulgaris for their involvement and a special mention goes out to Bethany Dean who achieved a Best Speaker award for her efforts. We are all looking forward to the next round of debates at the end of May.
