Library News

This term has seen some exciting developments in the Library. The Library is now open every lunchtime (except Wednesday). This has been met with great enthusiasm by many of our students. They have been using the space to read, borrow, return books and of course take part in the ever popular jigsaws that are ongoing in the Library. I have been delighted to see older students reading with younger students and genuine teamwork displayed as they work to complete the latest puzzle. A knitting and crochet club is also getting underway on Mondays.

Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge.
This year Junior School is participating in the Victorians Premier’s Reading Challenge. It is not a competition but a personal challenge for children to read a set number of books by September 7 2018.
Children from Prep to Year 2 are encouraged to read or ‘experience’ 30 books with their parents and teachers. Children from Year 3 and Year 4 are challenged to read 15 books.
All children who meet the challenge will receive a certificate of achievement signed by the Victorian Premier and can choose to have their name included on the online Honour Roll.
To read the Premier’s letter to parents, view the booklists and for more information about the Victorian Premier’s Reading Challenge, visit: www.education.vic.edu.au/prc
Your student will bring their login details home on a sticker. If you have any questions, please email bc.library@ccg.vic.edu.au

Happy reading, everyone.
