Stemming the TIDE Systems Engineering course.

Year 6 students have taken to the water as part of their Stemming the TIDE Systems Engineering course.  These students spent the first term investigating both non-renewable and renewable energy resources and have since turned their focus to solar energy.  Tasked with designing, prototyping, testing, and refining a model solar powered boat, students are using the scientific inquiry process to investigate the many variables that affect how a craft moves through water.  Students are aiming for the fastest solar powered boat and will be collecting and analysing data from the testing tanks as they strive to engineer the most effective model using the design thinking process.  Completed and competition worthy boats at the end of term will be waiting to represent Christian College in the Victorian Model Solar Vehicle Challenge.
