From the Head of Senior School

A Community Responds…………..

The events of Tuesday evening with the fire were devastating for all. The Library and Administation areas were very much the hub of our community. During the scenes on Tuesday evening the CFA responded in the most magnificent manner, working hard to minimise the damage. Their protocols in informing us of what was happening and working in such dangerous surrounds only increases our respect for the emergency services and i feel so blessed to live in a country that has such support.

The staff are determined to ensure that the student learning is not disrupted, and today our Year 11 and 12 students returned for a normal program. It is anticipated that all students shall return on Monday and normal routines in our school willl continue. We have made such decisions after consulting the engineering and OH&S experts.  On Monday if you student could still wear their full winter uniform but also bring along a warm jacket, as there still may not be heating in some areas of the school.  This does not mean that they forgo their uniform, just layer with warm essential items.

If you child is anxious at all about these events then please contact us so we may support them. No student will be disadvantaged with their assessments, and we urge students to seek assistance where required.

We must thank all the parents, families and students, past and present who sent their best wishes in our time of need. Each and every one has allowed us to gain strength for what is in front of us.
