Excursion to Coogoorah Park Anglesea

On Wednesday morning our prep children set off to Coogoorah Park in Anglesea to become Junior Rangers with Regina from Eco Logic, Josh from Senior School and Mrs. Liz Virtue.

The morning began with a discovery walk through the bush spotting animals, animal tracks and learning more about the animal’s habitats and their needs. They spent time discussing the different characteristics of some of our native animals and how they have been uniquely created.

Following the discovery walk the children learnt that small native shrubs are imperative for the survival of the smaller animals and birds that live in the Coogoorah Park area.

The children learnt how to plant these small shrubs and then had the opportunity to plant 50 new shrubs along the pathway, which will grow and help protect the smaller animals and birds.
