Year 7 Writers Workshop: Murder in the Dungeon!

Murder, mystery, and mayhem; the year 7 Writers Workshop students participated in an immersive murder mystery on Friday afternoon. Through finding clues and evidence, students piece together the story of a murder at St Augustine’s Orphanage.

After learning the history of the campus and looking at a daily life of an orphan, students create character profiles for their story. Through exploring scenarios, creating characters, and finding clues; students will tell the story of a murder mystery.

This term we are focusing on writing from different sources of stimulus for inspiration. Using language conventions such as engaging sentence starters and conversational dialogue to incorporate into their stories, students develop their skills as young writers.
