Year 5 Digital Technologies

The Year 5 students have been investigating How Computers Work in Digital Technologies this term. Pupils were required to participate in a series of plugged-in and unplugged activities to develop their curiosity and understanding about how computers and other digital systems work. Students reported the following highlights:

Making paper computers to identify what the internal parts of a computer are, opening up a PC to discover some of the components, combining classes and having the Digi-Tech teachers co-facilitate for an unplugged learning experience. Students have been documenting their discoveries and understanding in their online learning journal. They have also been planning how to best showcase their learning via an online presentation platform that they will share with their peers, receive feedback and submit for assessment. We are excited to continue this rich learning in Term 3 as we begin our coding units.
