"Sporty Maths" at Science Works

Last week the year 11 VCAL students went to Science Works to take part in the Museum Victoria "Sporty Maths" program. The program involves the students using hands on activities to measure and record data which they then take back to the classroom to analyse.

Students took part in testing their strength, speed and skill in a variety of sports including wheelchair racing, sprinting, basketball and gymnastics judging. The program is a great way to make learning maths skills fun in an environment out of the classroom. It is programs like these that allows students to gain and develop important maths skills in a hands on practical environment. They can then take these skills into their work place each Friday where they are gaining valuable industry experience.
