Year 7 Sustainability Unit

This week our Year 7 students commenced the Sustainability Unit. Collaboration, problem-solving and self-regulation are just some of the 21st Century skills our Year 7 students will be developing throughout our unique 2 week investigation. This dynamic and cross-curricular project involves the students:

  • Selecting one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals that is of interest to them.
  • Identifying a problem from one of our eight stakeholders that relates to their goal and propose potential solutions to this problem. The students went on an excursion to the workplace of their stakeholder. Our stakeholders include: Cotton On, Cotton On Foundation, Green Earth Electrical, Back Creek Café, Lazarus Centre, The Farmer’s Place, Cloverdale Baptist Church, and Bancoora Surf Life Saving Club.
  • Students will pitch their idea in a meeting with the stakeholder next Friday.

We are excited to see what ideas our students come up with next week as they prepare their pitches to this real-world issue.
