HopeFull Institute: Glen Gerreyn presents a seminar on Thriving in the Modern World
On Wednesday the 8th August the Bellarine year 7 – 9 students will be presented with a seminar called ‘Day of Hope’. This is being presented to us by Glen Gerreyn of the Hopefull Institute.
For the past twenty years Glen has made speaking and writing his career. Collectively he has spoken to over 500,000 people around the world – children and parents, students, employees, business leaders, sporting groups and community organisations. In 2012 he received international accreditation as a Certified Speaking Professional (CSP).
Glen has spoken at world famous TEDx events, appeared on the Today Show and Can of Worms, ABC national radio, and written blogs for mamamia.com. He’s also written four books: Gifted for Greatness, Men of Honour, Oxygen 102, and Get Your Hopes Up. Glen is a dynamic presenter with a powerful story that will entertain, engage, inspire and equip our students to build upon their hope and purpose for their future. Below is a description of the ‘Day of Hope’ seminar.
Young people are living and inheriting an increasingly complex world – socially, environmentally and politically. It’s a world that causes many to flounder – drifting away from their true identity, forgetting their purpose, and being blinded by societal pressures and fears.
Day of Hope provides knowledge andunderstanding that form the foundation on which students can build a hope filled future. It develops an understanding of the effects that external influences and personal cognitions have on the individual. By encouraging critical thinking, Glen provokes students to counteract negativity and make informed, healthy choices.
There are three modules in this seminar:
THE POWER OF PURPOSE encourages students to consider and take decisive action on who they
are, why they are here and where they are going.
JAILBREAK explores how to change limiting beliefs or paradigms to maximise success for the
individual and the team.
UNSTOPPABLE teaches the power of stretching yourself to be able to be all that you were created to be. This session provides students with tools and strategies to overcome the times when it seems as though everything is against them, so they can make their dreams a reality.
