Jeans for Genes - Project Care Day
As part of our Project Care Days throughout the year, we plan to encourage our students with a Spiritual context to what we are doing. So much of the gospel is about Loving God and Loving Others. Through the giving of money on Project Care Days – we are doing both of these things!!
This morning during homeroom classes, students were involved in discussions around Jeans for Genes Day, informing them of the important work that the Children's Medical Research Institute do in genetic research, taking a stand against childhood disease. Alongside this discussion was the sharing of the following scriptures:
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me,… for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Application: Children are VERY close to God’s heart! If they are important to God, then they should be important to us.
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Application: As we give to a great cause (Medical Research to seek cures for Childhood genetic disorders) - we are also giving to God!
