Year 7 Japanese Program
Yr. 7 Japanese Class
Starting something new is always exciting. This semester 18 Year 7 students in the Japanese class, have had a great start to learning Japanese. They have been learning hiragana; the basic phonetic script representing the sounds of Japanese. Using Visible thinking routine, the students are developing understanding of how different the Japanese script looks and sounds, compared to English. A key aspect of the Year 7 Japanese program involves intercultural understanding. Wearing Japanese costumes, the students introduced themselves in Japanese. The students participated in the hands-on cultural experience with which they are developing intercultural understanding and knowledge.
