Congratulations - Kade Leigh and Harry Bradbury

Kade Leigh and Harry Bradbury recently represented Victoria at the 12 Years and Under National Hockey Championships in Cairns. Both Year 5 students had a wonderful experience.

“We enjoyed being part of a team on and off the field. We learnt new skills from the training we did before the trip, right through to when we were playing against other states.”

One of Kade’s highlights was scoring a goal against South Australia. “I was so happy when I scored a goal in our game against South Australia. Our coach, Rob Zull, taught us a lot and our team manager, Mark, was great at organising us for our games and recovery after our games.” Harry played a vital role throughout the week at full back, repelling many attacks on goal from the opposition.

It was an amazing experience for both students, making new friends not only from Victoria but from different states, some that will be life long friends. They both hope that they can play more hockey with and against them in the future.

Both boys loved putting on the Victorian playing top and felt very proud to represent their state and Christian College throughout the tournament. They plan to work hard at their hockey to enable them to get more chances to represent Victoria again and have many more wonderful experiences like they did last week.
