Japanese Speech Contest

On Monday August 1st, the 2016 Junior School Japanese Speech Contest was held in the Chapel. We had many students from Years 1-4 perform and a great audience of parents, grandparents and friends. Reidy Sensei and Chaney Sensei were impressed at the hard work and dedication shown by all students in memorising and presenting their speeches to a large audience. Due to the high quality of the students’ linguistic skills and all the speeches, the judges, Stephen Brewster and Marin Oura, had a very difficult task in choosing the place getters. We also had terrific performances from the native Japanese speakers, Noah Tanis, Niko Nakayama and Zen Nakayama, who displayed fluency and great public speaking skills. The children showed great courage and resilience in not letting their nerves get the better of them and they performed with poise and grace.
